2024 CONTESTANTS

meet the top 10 in order of final votes

Juan

Bluffton, SC

I am an equipment technician for Rose Hill Golf Club. I’m also the Chairman of the advisory board for Operation Patriots FOB. A little over 6 years ago my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. I shaved my face and head then told her I’d grow it all out till she got better. She’s finally in remission and I cut my hair. Before I could trim up the beard she said “mijo keep it. It’s good luck.” I haven’t shaved a day since. It’s a lifestyle for sure and maintain it by washing it, conditioning, and oiling as needed. Grooming I handle on my own. For sure I’m a proud beard owner! Strength and Honor!

Jack

Beaufort, SC

I’ve had a beard going since high school and I’m 23 now. I haven’t shaved at all, and trimmed very little in about 4 years. It fends for itself with little more than soap and occasional oil as help from me. I work construction and ride a hot pink motorcycle with a pink mohawk helmet. I have to tie my beard when I ride so I got matching hot pink hair ties for it.

Josh

Beaufort, SC

My name is Josh. I am a resident of the Lowcountry and my beard is the staple for my competition barbecue team Twisted Beard BBQ. I believe it’s time to put my staple to work. I started growing my beard many years ago as far as maintaining my appearance it is very important to me to keep my beard in check, not only for my appearance, but for my BBQ as well. And at the same time I am known for my beard.

Shawn

Beaufort, SC

Wife and I own a marketing company and a sign shop. Have had my beard since May of 2014. Daily routine is beard moisturizer with beard oil.

Marlen

Bluffton, SC

I am just a regular guy that started growing my beard about 8 years ago. Keeping it colored blue is a labor of love. Yes it has been blue since it was long enough to dye. I often get asked if I ever change colors and I don’t it is always blue. I get approached nearly everyday and it seems to be a great way to break the ice.

Michael

Bluffton, SC

Hey I Mike, I’m originally from New Jersey and have lived in the Low Country for 25 years. I am small business owner her in Bluffton. I have had a beard in form or another for as long as I can remember. I spend a good bit of time grooming, but I love it. I get compliments all the time, and look forward to winning $400 for my dedication 😂

Tim

Bluffton, SC

Currently retired. Started growing my beard in 2020 when I retired. A good beard balm and oil along with minor grooming keeps it looking good. Professionally trimmed every few months.

Mike

Bluffton, SC

I started growing my beard a couple of years ago when the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office employees participated in ‘No Shave November’ in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. My wife loves my beard very much; if I ever shave it off, I’ll have to sleep on the couch!

Bill

Bluffton, SC

I am president of Unisource Mortgage Services and have been with the company for over 26 years. I started growing my beard in 2017 and have had it ever since; sometimes as long as 14 inches in length. In November and December, locals may recognize me at various holiday events as “Bluffton Santa.” I lead a busy life, so my beard care routine is very simple. I take biotin every day, use a quality beard shampoo twice a week, and blow-dry my beard daily. My mustache is product-free 95% of the time, but I’ll occasionally utilize pomade or wax to enhance the style or keep it locked in place. The best advice I can give to new beardsmen is to find the routine that works best for you and your beard because there is no “one-size fits all” solution. And remember, there are two kinds of people in the world: those who appreciate a good beard and those who are wrong!

Duane

Bluffton, SC

I’m entering my husband, Chef Duane. Pastry Chef & Baker at Low Country Fresh in Bluffton. He’s worn a beard NON STOP since his mid-20s. He is committed to his facial tresses even in the hottest months of the year! He keeps he beard soft and manageable with consistent brushing with a boar bristle brush and an occasional comb through. He uses beard wash, balm and a light weight oil from Shea Moisture and Bevel products. He is always careful with covering his beard when baking 🙂

Bluffton, SC

I work for Hilton Head BMW in the parts department. I started growing my beard long in 2021. Before that I have always had a beard of some sort since my 20’s. I don’t use any products I just wash it and brush it. Oh and my last name means soft bearded. 🤙🏽

Shawn

Beaufort, SC

My wife and I own SK Signs, Designs & Marketing. We offer Videography, Photography, Marketing, and Signs for our clients. I started growing my beard in 2014 after I had spent 23 years in the restaurant business and couldn’t have any facial hair. Maintenance includes daily brushing with moisturizer spray, with monthly trims from my local barber.

Michael

Bluffton, SC

Have always been a “goatee guy”, but got inspired by Bill Fletcher and his massive “man-mane”! I decided to try my shot at growing a beard half as good as our very own “Bluffton Santa”. At 55 y/o, there was not better time than the present. I haven’t shaved in over 18 months, but have been maintaining at its point resent length. My keys to a good beard? Wash and condition, keep it oiled at least every other day and get rid of those split ends.

Charlie

Hilton Head, SC

I am a Hilton Head Local resident for 47 years, grew up on HHI and graduated 92’ from HHHS. I am a local Realtor for over 20 years, my wife Kati and I have 3 awesome boys who love my beard. I trim my beard myself and have been growing it for the past 9 years.

Randall

Hilton Head, SC

I am a Keller Williams Low Country real estate agent. I started to grow my beard in 2019 during the hurricane Mathew evacuation. I evacuated to my family farm. I was busy taking care of the farm and decided I would not shave that week. After 7 days my beard was fully grown and now I can’ t imagine my face without it. I like to keep it groomed, usually going to the barber every 4 weeks.

Connor

Beaufort, SC

My name is Connor Cave, I reside in Beaufort,SC. I own and operate Power Washing Man, Beaufort’s #1 grime fighting power washing company. For the past 7 years I have let my beard do its own thing! If I’m being honest, it stays luscious on its own from the every day hard-working natural oils from Power Washing for a living.

John

Beaufort, SC

I am a retired Marine and small business owner (Devil Dog Headquarters). I have been growing my beard since I retired in 2020 never shaving just trimming.

Scott

Beaufort, SC

Quit shaving when I retired in 2019, and since then my beard has grown into a life of it’s own. People here in Beaufort are fascinated and know me by my beard.

Gustavo

Bluffton, SC

Im 34 years old and I’m a salesman at the best local car dealership Stokes Toyota! I’ve been growing my beard for around 6 years, at times it’s long and messy and at times it’s nice and groomed. To keep it looking good I shampoo it daily and oil it as need it. It gets compliments on the regular.
